Course Outline:   Introduction to GMDSS systems, maritime mobile and satellite service, SOLAS procedures, Distress, Urgency & Safety Communications, Radiotelephony communications with non GMDSS stations, Reception of maritime safety information, Protection of distress frequencies, Search & Rescue Operations, Practical and theoretical knowledge of general communication procedures, log book keeping, licenses and equipment fit, traffic charging, practical operation of GMDSS systems.
